Origins of this Blogspot

It is with much dragging of feet that I've finally created a blog. The idea of posting one's every thought and event on a webpage for the world to see always befuddled me. But alas, now that I'm in Maastricht, the usefulness of a blog has finally become evident and here I am pounding away at my keyboard to come up with the first post.

Firstly, for those who are still in the dark, I'll explain why I chose to name my blog as such. It all began with me innocently sharing a joke with Yuan....me thinking that she would take a liking to it due to its format; which bears great similarity to one of her favourite jokes - the notorious gun gun joke (do ask her to share it with you if you still haven't heard).

The joke goes something like this:

"3 ducks are swimming in a public pond when a policeman comes and apprehends them. Being a public pond that disallowed swimming, he hauls the 3 ducks to court to face the judge.

The judge interrogates each of the ducks seperately so as to find out why they are in the pond. He brings the first duck into the interrogation room where he asks him 'what were you doing in the pond' in which the duck responded 'Oh! I was just blowing bubbles'.

Satisfied, he sends the first duck out and brings in the second where he repeats the same question. To his surprise, he gets the same response, 'Oh! I was just blowing bubbles'. "

Finally, as he brings the third duck in, he remarks 'I wouldn't suppose you were blowing bubbles in the pond' which the 3rd duck replies 'Oh no, I'm Bubbles' "

Oh yes, I can hear the collective groan of all those who are reading this post atm.

But, our dear Adrielle took such a liking to it that she decided to share it with her Sunday Cell Group....which is great because its on par with announcing it over the loudspeaker! Well...soon the infamy of this joke spread and the last I heard, the joke is making its rounds around SCGS as a courtesy to Natalie from Befrienders.

Regardless, I'll put an end to this extremely lengthy post of mine to conclude that the purposes of this blog is to keep my dear friends and family in Singapore or whichever country you are in posted on the latest happenings in Maastricht.

I'll do my very best to keep it updated with the latest and greatest but don't hold me to it!

Regards
Mr. Bubbles aka Dong
